Brig O Doon is one of our top Ayrshire Wedding Venues, and not just because it’s close to home. Our daughter went to nursery in Alloway, so we have such a fondness for its setting. The venue’s historic charm and cozy vibes instantly draw you in the moment you walk through the door. Childhood sweethearts Fiona & Jack’s day was just perfect such a laid back day.
Wedding photography at Brig o’ Doon, Ayrshire
You are totally spoilt for choice when it comes to places to take photographs. Set in immaculate grounds with the River Doon in the background and not far from the beach. The sweeping staircase and huge windows makes for beautiful light for your ceremony and meal. Fiona & Jack opted to stay at the venue for their drinks reception. This meant they had time to mingle with guests in the warm July heat and still have time for some portraits and family shots.
We then headed for Greenan beach after the meal when golden hour was just perfect. We often recommend heading back out for a few more photos after your meal, it gives you some alone time. You’ve had a few drinks, speeches are over and you can just relax and soak up your time together. Jack was adamant that he hates getting his photo taken but by the end of the day we thought that was a huge fib and he secretly loves it. Â Thank you for the banter and all the laughs! Â
If you’re looking for a high energy  band that will get your guests up dancing we highly recommend The Borrowed Blues, they even got us up dancing we didn’t want to leave!
